Fine lines and wrinkles are mementos of a life well lived – from our summers in the sun to all those late nights laughing with good friends. But as more of those mementos start showing up on our faces over the years, most of us wish they could be confined to a scrapbook instead.
As we grow older, age-related volume loss along with a lifetime of smiling, frowning and squinting can etch deep lines into our skin. At the same time, our production of collagen, the body’s natural building block to healthy skin, starts to decrease. Add in years of free radical damage from the sun, pollutants, alcohol, and smoking, and early wrinkles are inevitable.
